Changes in Plans in response to the Coronavirus outbreak
Weekly luncheons cancelled until the fall of 2020
During this unprecedented time when the novel coronavirus is dominating our news, we remain firm in our commitment to the well-being of our Kansas City Mizzou Tiger fans. To that end, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our lunch guests that we discontinue hosting our weekly luncheons this spring. We plan to resume our regular Tuesday lunches before the opening Mizzou football season in the fall of 2020.
Our relationship with our Tiger fans is why a decision like this is so important during these uncertain times. Stay safe and healthy.
We hope to see you in the fall!
The Board of Directors of the Kansas City Tiger Club
Also, due to the coronavirus outbreak in the United States, the Tiger Club of Kansas City board of directors has made the decision to cancel our annual golf tournament scheduled on April 20th at Lakewood Oaks Country Club.
The health and well-being of our Tiger Club members is a top priority to us. We will not take the chance of putting any individual at risk. We also want to be assertive in our actions to inhibit the spread of this virus.
We would like to offer two options to players and sponsors who have already paid for the tournament:
Proceeds from this tournament go toward the Tiger Club of Kansas City’s donation to the Tiger Scholarship Fund to support Mizzou athletics. You can choose to allow your payment to be part of this donation. Your donation to the Tiger Club of Kansas City, a 501(c)(3) organization, may be 100% tax deductible as no goods or services of any value were or will be provided to you in connection with this gift. You should confirm this with you tax advisor.
You can request a full refund of your payment from the Tiger Club
Please respond to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 31 to let us know your choice on your payment.
Thanks to everyone for your support and understanding.
Tiger Club of Kansas City is proud to support the University of Missouri Athletic Department and Tiger fans in the Kansas City metro area.
In addition to hosting regular weekly lunches during football and basketball season, the Tiger Club hosts special events throughout the year to bring MIZZOU fans in the Kansas City metro together to celebrate being a Tiger. Our annual events include our annual Golf Tournament featuring celebrities from the MU Athletic Department and former players. Past guests include Head Coaches Barry Odom and Cuonzo Martin along with members of their staffs. In August, we host the SEC Block Party. MIZZOU alumni along with alumni groups from other SEC Schools are part of the event hosted at Chicken N Pickle in North Kansas City. We also host Power Hour Happy Hour events. A celebrity guest entertains and offers insight into MIZZOU sports. Several Power Hour events are scheduled during the year. The Tiger Club has also hosted trips to away regular season football games.
The Tiger Club is a totally volunteer organization.
